Thanksgiving 2011

Watercolor 2011.
We went to Watercolor/Seaside for the week of Thanksgiving. It was a great trip to see family and be in the sun! We had a blast. I haven't see my niece and nephew in way too long and you know for an obsessed aunt, even 1 month is too long! So a long visit was overdue.

Our days consisted of exactly what a beach vacation should be: get up when the kids get up, breakfast, play around the house until they can't bear it any longer, hit the beach, then the pool, lunch by the pool, naptime (this was for me! kids at "rest time"), more activities (painting pottery, thanksgiving arts and crafts) or more pool/beach time.

On the way to the beach!
Playing. Beach time.

Last night before going back to Dallas.
Dinner with Michele and Tyler.
The feast and family on Thanksgiving evening. Such a great meal!

Me and my BFF.
And we sure do have friendship bracelets to show for it.
Some highlights from the trip:
Turkey Trot. It was definitely not a long or hard run but we had made a bet between the Morgans and the Beams. Couple times added together, fastest wins. Well the course was a little deceiving--first starting in the trails so it was basically walking and we were all together (except andrew got a little head start) then once it hit the road, it was time to trot! Tyler blew us all away leading a pack of runners down the wrong path. So when I crossed the finished line 2nd, behind Andrew, I was a bit confused bc he passed me way at the beginning. Mishi she brought in the caboose. OK, im giving her a hard time. She did good. We all had a good run, short and sweet. Since there was some confusion the bet was off (Im pretty sure I can tell you who would have won :))
Getting ready to bring it...
Canoe race: There is a spot in Watercolor at the Boathouse where you can rent canoes, paddle boards, ect ect. So we decided to have a canoe race one afternoon. It was a blast. The Morgans + little Tyler against The Beams (they had Ellie). Mom and Lee kinda got off course but again, The Morgans were a strong pair!

Beach: Loved watching the kids play in the beach and Tyler/Andrew out on the sandbar.
A rare sight of calmness.
Buried DeDe (mom) in the sand. This was classic and she was a great sport. I think next years Christmas Card needs to be the family buried in the sand. It was too funny. Love you mom!
Just being with the family. Its been over a year (or maybe even longer) that we were ALL together under one roof. Much needed time spent.

Of course a photo shoot at the beach is always needed. We do it yearly.
Its just too beautiful to miss.
Thanks mom and Lee for a great trip! Cant wait till next year :)
